M House is Mmm mmm good…

/ / Food, Lifestyle

For my birthday this past week, we decided to go somewhere new, of course, and found ourselves at M House. Located across from Publix, next to ALOFT Hotel, M House Kitchen is ready to tame your tantalizations. In loving memory of his mentor, chef Alfredo Alvarez, Abraham Silva has opened a stunning restaurant with equally fantastic food.

Day Boat Scallops

Looking to get the most food for our buck, we decided to order three different appetizers – it left us satiated beyond belief. We started with the Day Boat Scallops, which were seared to perfection. My favorite type of scallops are when they have that crispy outside, but is soft as butter on the inside, where it can just melt away in your mouth. Of course, the execution was on point. The scallops were rested on a bed of mushroom polenta, and since Anjane cannot eat mushrooms, I had to take one for the team! (Hehe, I really just ate all the mushrooms and tried to save her as much polenta as possible).

Mediterranean Octopus

Ever since our honeymoon in Santorini, octopus has been something that has been a bit ruined for us. We have not been able to find an equivalent to the freshness and deftness of the cooks with the sea creature. That being said, the octopus here was really well executed. What I appreciated the most was the charcoal grilled flavors and seasonings and the bed of vegetables underneath. Served with zucchini and heirloom tomatoes that were cooked in salmoriglio, the dish held its own against our palate, and we finished every morsel.

Grilled Lamb Chop

Finally, the third appetizer we had woke up our buds with the delicious kefir dip. What I loved the most about this dish, though, was how uniquely different and juicy the chops were. Typically served with some sort of mint seasoning, the chef managed to conjure up some magical meat seasonings. I couldn’t even tell you how wonderful it was because I was too busy enjoying them to analyze. You simply MUST experience M House. Make your reservation here!
