Top 10 Best Places to Brunch in Coral Gables

/ / Food, Lifestyle

Are you planning on sleeping in this weekend – or any weekend for that matter? I mean, after the holidays have now passed, who can blame you! If so, you’ve come to the right place! I have compiled the top 10 best places to brunch in Coral Gables!

10. Fiola

Hailing from Washington DC, Fiola is yet another restaurant that brings Italian cuisine to the City Beautiful. Yet, what sets them apart is not the four-course brunch with bottomless libations, but despite being it’s second location, it still brings that home-cooked feeling with fresh taste.

9. Chocolate Fashion

With three local locations, my favorite still remains the first. Located off of Miracle Mile, it’s quiet scenery lends itself a delicious light brunch with plenty of chocolate options. Delight your taste buds with sweet and savory foods to help boost your day!

8. The Local Craft Food and Drink

Although originally opened to focus on craft beers and spirits, Chef Alberto Cabrera’s menu finds their way into some of the best brunches available. If you haven’t stopped by yet, you will want to make your way over. With Chicken and Cheddar Pancakes with a maple bourbon syrup or the Monte Cristo, you will leave happy and return for more!

7. Tap 42

Another gastropub offering bottomless brunch drink options, I originally was introduced to Tap 42 by my sister-in-law. After a night out in Fort Lauderdale, we were able to enjoy a few side dishes that created such an impression on me that we had to come back for brunch. A favorite of hers, it climbed it’s way onto this list when it opened up another one of it’s restaurants, now five in total, in Coral Gables.

6. Bulla

When you can go somewhere and enjoy such a strange combination of watermelon, ham, cheese and tomatoes as a salad, you know that you are in for an experience. The kind that is dangerous. So dangerous, you try to go home and make the dishes on your own because you know you will go broke if you don’t. Diego Solano continues to invent even more fantastic combinations, so you can always enjoy the excitement in the atmosphere, brought together by great food. Seven locations across the country says it all.

5. Threefold Cafe

Truthfully, it was difficult to rank Bulla and Threefold numerically. They have both been equally delicious every time, and equally inspiring. Threefold’s Avocado toast has now been incorporated into one of our breakfast options for the weekends. But, for me, the origins of coffee and fresh food it what gives it a slight edge over Bulla. I do love a great cup of coffee.

4. Eating House

Now I have spoken about foods so inspirational you have to make it at home… but there are times when you just have to look at your plates and concede – you cannot make anything this delicious, on your own. My favorite go-to whenever available? Captain Crunch Pancakes. Oh. My. Gosh. Slyly, they do not always offer it, so you have to keep coming back to home for the jackpot. Either way, you will never leave disappointed.

3. Cafe Demetrio

Perhaps it’s nostalgia that brings me back so often, but I think it has a lot more to do with the tri-colored Cafe Demetrio, or it’s sister, the Frappe Demetrio. I do LOVE a great cup of coffee. Quaint and cozy, I used to come here all the time in college to enjoy the live music, friends, and even the occasional game of chess with Demetrio. (He is quite good). My favorite? Mexican Chicken Sandwich. I always can share that plate, or take home half!

2. Brunch at the Biltmore

You cannot say you have brunched until you have had the full experience. The journey. The options that is Brunch at the Biltmore. Aside from the obvious beautiful architecture and landscape for your meal, the exquisite tastings featuring foods from all over, served in a buffet style are amazing. Chased with bottomless mimosas, you cannot go wrong with Brunch at the Biltmore.

1. Zucca

Everyone talks about brunch at the Biltmore. But, for me, the best brunch that very few people are talking about is actually at the hotel St. Michel. Well, to the east of it. As if their continental brunch options were not enough, you then get dined with a seven-course meal. That’s right, seven. Each hand-crafted for you in an unforgettable journey, having filled up on the buffet, you are guaranteed to need to box up at least a few dishes – if you can resist!
